== Histoire ==

La RNC introduit sa propre monnaie dans le courant du [[Chronologie|XXII]]e siècle et est initialement présente sous forme de pièces d'or. En 2241, l'économie de la RNC domine la côte ouest au point où le dollars RNC devient la monnaie courante des trois puissances régionales : la [[République de Nouvelle Californie (ville)|RNC]], la [[Cité de l'Abri]] et [[New Reno]]. Dans le même temps, les [[capsule]]s perdent leur valeur dans la région<ref>La monnaie présente dans ''[[Fallout 2]]'' est le dollar.</ref>.

Lors du [[Guerre RNC - Confrérie|conflit l'opposant à Lost Hills]], la RNC perd une grande partie de sa réserve d'or après les incessants raids menés par la Confrérie, au point où il est impossible de frapper les pièces. Les citoyens, paniqués, se précipitent dans ce qui reste des réserves pour réclamer la valeur faciale de leur bien. La RNC étant incapable d'honorer ses dettes, la confiance en cette monnaie chute fortement. Le trésorier de la République en 2281 est [[John Michael Henderton]], sa signature est apposée sur l'une des faces des billets.
